A moth of woo

I saw a candles yellow light
Dancing on a moonless night
Beckoning me in flicks of bold
To come and warm this soul so old

It sent a lick of flame to me
Peeling all the night that be
And I sat down in trance of awe
Warming to its very core

And with the light a moth came too
Lighting up in dazzling hue
Sending heat into my face
Heart and mind and mystic chase

Saddled me with whispers fall
Lulled me back to loves recall
Placed a flower on my door
Shed a tear my evermore.

And I have placed this rusty Knight
To swear an oath to her finite

Whatever time of day you say
you have a Moth to woo
I'll be looking, night or day
to see what you pursue...

Good evening, Sy....

You are amazing ...
day or night
you set the screen a'blazing
with perfect metered poetry
to that OF COURSE a moth
would agree~

I stood beneath the star stained sky ...
to wish a wish upon their sequined sigh.
And whispered to the midnight moon ...
hear these words spoken none too soon.

I wished not for me, myself, nor I ...
all I ask is for a verse to give to my Sy-guy.
I requested rhymes to do him poetic justice
for that is the promise that poetry entrusts us.

Please ... a poem to call his own ...
for in my heart, he's found a home.
A cadenced line that might define ...
the way he falls so gentle on my mind.

If words but could they would find the way to say ...
he is the sunshine on my shoulders each day.
And should the words softly speak my heart ...
they would say he's held it right from the start.

Starlight ... star bright ... I wish I may ... I wish I might ...
Write these words across the night ... Sy you are my guiding light.

JM,
That's good enought for Randy and me
Just wanted to sweeten the tea
It's a while since I pet the moth
And put some taste into the broth.
