Music Of The Heart

Affection is a feeling you can hear without a sound
It’s something that’s invisible and yet it’s all around
It can’t be found in diamond rings or flowers on a stand
It’s found along a moonlit beach while walking hand in hand

It doesn’t come in heart shaped boxes over ten feet wide
It comes in creaky rowboats as you take her for a ride
It doesn’t come from gold tipped arrows shot into a heart
It comes from being really close and never far apart

Our bodies show desires that our shyness tries to quell
The pearls of effervescence when you reach beneath the shell
The essence that our scent exudes, speaks loud in ancient tongues
The blushing passion brought upon the verge of being sprung

The love we feel comes not from potions that are numbered nine
Love is when you see her and your eyes begin to shine
It doesn’t come in lighted torches used to light her fire
It comes by truly listening to all of her desires

It comes when songs sung tenderly can make her gently swoon
It comes when she is in your arms under a silver’ry moon
It comes when all the fears of being hurt are finally free
It comes when you can hold her close and kiss her tenderly

Your heart will always know if what you feel is really true
Just close your eyes and listen and the rest is up to you
I hope that you can hear the music when it all begins
I hope that you are listening when love is deep within

Oh my, Richy...I hope so too...

This is gorgeous, my friend...made my heart swoon
and put a smile on my face.  Thank you for that.

Vicky, Vicky, Vicky... what are you doing up so late? Or are you just up early...lol

Thanks so much, I'm glad you liked it! You are just too sweet!

Well, I better go make my kids lunches, and then hit the rack, before the sun comes up...lol

Goodnight Vicky,
Or should I say, Good Morning?

lol

Hi, Richy...that would be 'up late'.  Sometimes, I'm
just way too much of a nightowl for my own good...LOL...
but I suppose I should probably try to get some sleep
before the sun comes up too.

Goodnight, Richy...sleep well...

papalunchmaker, this name suits you and so does the poem.
But this line "The pearls of effervescence when you reach beneath the shell" is too magnificent for such a mundane title therefore I will call you grand master poet.

Seriously, thank you!

PapaLunchMaker huh Marge... lol
Well, at least it’s not Papa Smurf!
Although, I have been feeling a little blue lately...lol
Thanks Marge, and Big Huglets back to you!

Its’ pretty to me too Shara. And so are you!
Thank You!

Kethry, how have you been, I hope very well!
Kethry your not feeling feverish or anything are you...lol
Grand Master anything, would be better reserved for
a much more suitable individual.
But thank you dearly, that really was a kind thing to say!

Ahhh the music in your heart plays soooo mellifluently... I always love seeing such romantic verse flow in such flawless meter...

Vicky's pretty good at that too - Maybe you two should do a collaborative verse - That'd rock... Don'tcha think??...

Nan ~  Wow, the Divine Mrs. Nan! Any sort of compliment from you is truly an honor!
I hope all is well! Thanks so much for your nice comments, that really means a lot to me!
Yes, Vicky is an extremely good poetess, and I think that would be a lot of fun. Vicky, what do you think? Try and sneak out of your house tonight, and throw a rock at my window. We’ll hide under the blankets with a flashlight and see what we come up with OK?

Thanks again Nan, you really made my day!

Ethel ~ Ethel, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.
Gary is one lucky guy!
You are so warm and caring, I don’t know what we’d do
around here without you!
Yeah, I just bought a big box of Q-Tips.
So far, not much going
on though... wait! ... I think I hear something...

Ahh dang!
It was just my stomach rumbling...

Maybe I’d better go eat something...lol

I’ll talk to ya soon Ethel!

Noah ~ Noah, I’ve never met anyone with a bigger and more giving heart then yours! You are going to make some very lucky gal so happy, someday soon!

Blessings to you to, my friend!

Maree ~ Hi Maree, I hope everything is going great!
Thanks so much, for your warm comments!
Please forgive me for not saying hi sooner.
It is just taking me longer then I expected to get
to everyone’s posts.

Take Care Maree, I’ll talk to you real soon!

VICKY!! Where... Are... You?!?... lol

Martie ~ Martie, that means so much, to hear that from you!
I’ve really missed your poetry very much!
I will be up to speed soon, annoying you guys with more replies
then you’d care to read. (from me that is...lol).

Thanks so much for your kind words!

Thanks Again Everyone!

Richy

Ah yes...I thought I heard my name off in the distance...LOL

Here I am, Richy.  Sorry it took me so long to get here.
I had to stop and get some extra batteries for the flashlight...LOL.
Now...scoot over a little and let me get under that blanket?

I would LOVE to write with you, Richy!

E-mail me?...or do you have any of
the instant messenger programs?
Let me know what works for you, okay?

And, by the way...sorry about your window...
Next time, I'll use a smaller rock...

Nan and Maree...thanks for the suggestion.

Richy,
Had to go back and see if I could find some of your humorous rhymes you told me about... I have failed (though I can't try too long - I'm at work), but I found this.  I have yet to put a poem in my "library" - I just might put this one in my heart though.  I haven't wept at someone else's words in ... well, I have no clue - I vaguely remember crying at a novel I read in high school....  Thanks so much Richy ... now I'm teary eyed at work!!!!!!!  This is the love I want and this was a reminder that I will never settle for less than these types of feelings of adoration again - both from him and to him ... whoever "him" may be!  OK - back to work - gosh, reality sux!
