November Scenes-Tanka String November surprise- yellow butterfly sails past, caught in cooling gust, temper ruffled like her wings, flapping, beating for control. American coot paddling round the city pond- silly little bird! Bobbing funny decoy duck, voice a clunking rusty bell. Pudgy old poet walking round the jogging track, pink-faced, absent smile, fingers counting syllables, mazed in her own murky verse. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

Loved this, could see it all very clearly.. Know all about the poet counting syllables, trying to keep the fingers from freezing... dah-dumm, dah-dumm...where was I? |

That's lovely .... I can relate to the "absent smile", not on the jogging track, but in the car when I create my senryus .... counting syllables too. (Always watchful though!). Love, Margherita |
