tell me what is it I've done? suckle fingers hungrily the forearm mirrors rivered blood apples laced with cinnamon longing just beyond my tongue words beguile past fingertip merlot biting palate's need with flour on my nose. pressing dough against the glass-- I am always forming cups. A life sustained gratuitous a curtsey graceful in concede fingers splayed of open palm emptied ready to receive read to me the recipe one part blood to two parts greed. Cut the ragged edges clean Crimp the juices snug within. Lick the knife and lips of lies confess to me what was my sin I search the parings for a sign-- weeping at the oven door wishing that I were inside becoming something else. Good Lord Karen . . . your use of metaphors is amazing here and remind me to never get near you while you are cooking . . . This strangely reminded me of the scene in the movie, "The Doors" where Jim was high and he forgot about Pam's turkey and burnt it black . . . her - screaming . . . "You killed my duck . . you killed my duck . . ." Next time . . will be better *smile* xxoo |

giggle. "you killed my duck!" Acid and duck do NOT mix well. grin. But anyhoo--this one was simple enough I suppose. I bought a bunch of bruised apples price to sell the other day. I peeled and cored them, cut the blemishes out, and made a couple of pies and some bread. As I did all this I was thinking that I wished I could do that to those beat up parts of myself. And smile--icebox? maybe I did. and why is it that those little ugly beat up apples have more flavor than those waxy picture perfect apples that cost a buck a piece? I know, I know, I think too much. Thanks for reading good poet people. I'm gonna go walk to the store. Sounds healthy huh? Nope. I'm outta smokes. ta ta for now! |

HI HI, LADY SER! I certainly do miss you! Lovely work...interesting thought..I'm not much for bruised up apples, but I suppose at least you know they're ripe, eh? As for doing that to parts of ourselves... We do that...don't we? Just not in ways I can explain right now. I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! |
