When the blue skies opened,
revealing an orange glow,
I knew the time had come
to sit by your fire,
and listen.
Not to talk.
Not to question.
Just to listen.

And from within the warmth
of gentlest words,
I did come to understand
more completely
why I have always
been attracted
to the heart of the flame.
For the heat of life and truth
burn constant,
without flicker,
visible to those
willing to spend a moment
as kindling.

I am kindling.
