She walked the streets
With battered pride
She sold her body
Or she tried
In the Life
That is her song
It’s got nothing to do
With right or wrong
It is just fast money
To the pay the bills
A bruised face is not funny
Nor are the pills
In the Life, death is preferred
That’s girl dead, Haven’t you heard?
