Ghost Kitten (Newer and Up to date poem)

Once in an old house upon a hill
Lived a nice old lady and a kitten
One night the house went up in flames
And nobody could find the remains
Of that poor, sweet kitten

A new family moved in
After extensive renovations
To the house were completed

They heard stories of a little kitten
Sitting in the window looking out
Waiting for the nice old lady
And then disappearing the next instant

The new family also heard scratching
And meowing at the front door
They said it sounded like it was
Trying to get out of the house
It was a frantic meow
That scared them all

Sometimes at night when they are asleep
the ghost kitten crawls up on their beds
And curls up at the ends
And watch the all sleep through the night

The family has no problems
With the little ghost kitten
They all live in harmony
In the old house on the hill

Cold hands means a warm heart

Makes me want to write a spooky poem.
Thought I had a ghost when I moved into this old house.

I wouldn't mind having that ghost kitten around.

What is life without poetry and adventure?

Julie, I'd love to swap phantom stories with you Friday...and y'ever feel those bony paws walking across you in your sleep and wake and there is NOTHING there?
