A host of former occupants await the Witching hour. The darkened halls reverberate with echoes from the tower that houses in it's highest peak, the clock whose telling hands, approach the apex of this night, that ghosts will soon command. Their presence even now I feel, an eerie chill befalls, it seems almost to emanate from within these mouldered walls. The faint sound of machinery that drives the pendulum is joined by ululations, now the Witching hour has come. Within this haunt of phantasms the jibber jabber grows. It shrieks across the chasm, speaks of things which no one knows, from a time that's long forgotten with the grimness of the grave, does the jibber jabber fill my ears until, at last, I rave... from the depths of my delusion onto your computer screens, having come to the conclusion that it must be Halloween. |

You are always good, Doc. You write this as though you have known a few witches in your time. I thoroughly enjoyed the flow and the skill of writing which makes your work read with such ease. (although I confess at the present time I can't say "ululations" to save my life) Must be the merlot. ![]() Cheers, doc! |

Doc: Is the Jibber Jabber related to the Jabberwock? I think only Lewis Carrol would know the answer to that..I also think he would have liked this poem, as I do.. Thanks for sharing....ice/ford |

Mysteria, Thank you so much, I'd be honored. Doc Sy, Happy halloween my friend, I'm glad you liked. Doc Tim, From deep within his bag of tricks he pulls a tasty treat, to accolades of such as this that ring the more so sweet. Thanks. Doc Terri, Thanks. Like a big kid with a new toy, I enjoy this very much. Doc Serenity, I have no former knowledge of this thing you have proposed. But, then again when meeting them it's possible I dozed, under their spell so who can tell what's real and what's not, so I'll just tell you this my friend, and that is, thanks alot. Doc Ice, I do believe they may be related, perhaps distant cousins ( it's so hard to keep these things straight now-a-days). In any event I am grateful to even have this piece. mentioned in the same sentence. Doc littlewing, So glad to be of service, Thank you! Doc |
