Mile upon mile he travels,
with him he takes only his acoustic guitar,
and the music locked up tight in his brain.

A man totaly unasuming,
you would miss him in a crowd.
Plainly he dresses,plainly he talks,
no side to him at all.

In the tradition of travelling musicians,
the venues are not big,
but then he prefers this,
a quiet man, almost lonely, always in the shadows.

At last he steps from those lonely dark shadows,
onto the stage.
Imediately his star shines, this solitary man
uses his god given gift, he is the best folk-blues guitarist in the world.

Silence hushes over the audience,
as he takes his seat, and in a gentle low voice he introduces his songs.

The first pluck of string, has the audience entranced, bewitched.
No more a quiet man, now he is in HIS perfect place,
perfect world.

With the sound of two guitarists playing,
there is just one on stage.
Beutifuly layered, nimble fingered music.
Chords executed with consumate confidence and ease.

Changes in pace, tempo and pitch,
all introduced with an oral history attached to each song.

When the gig is over, back to the shadows he slowly walks.
Back to anonymity, he fades into the background,
almost like he wasnt there.

But within each member of the audience,
he has left a void, that only he can satisfy and fill.
He has left a dark beautiful meloncholy,
touching and personal to everyone present.

Passionate, yet gentle, warm yet remote.
Nobody but nobody is like him,
and yet he has been doing this for decades.

Many bigger named bands, borrowed his tunes,
and played his style to big arenas.
But he does what he has always done and is comfortable with,
never rising too high, never going too low.

Locked away in his heart, is the love of a million people, that nobody sees.
All emotions are played out by the fingers of this magical king of music.

Your love of music shows throughout this piece, so many front men take all the credit
and get the attention, but it takes teamwork to hear beauty being played..unsung heros...

I loved how you placed yourself in his shoes, a great tribute, allowing the reader to experiance everything through your eyes, your heart...
