Bath away the day I say,
I gladly give it to the water.
Take the key and lock the door
That’s my alma mater.

Light the candle upon the tub
And reach to flick the switch.
Turn on the hottest water
Then take off every stitch.

Anndddd soak!

Soak away the blasting talk,
Soak away inner scream,
Soak away the numbing.
Soak in self-esteem.

When the water begins to cool
Heat it once again.
With your hand pull the plug,
Send intensity down the drain.

Gawd!!! I've had those days.... and yes super soaker in the tub for a few hours takes all the tension from your life.... light the candle run the water and pour myself a cold beer... better yet.... keep the pack close on ice....LOL  I loved this poem.

I second the motion, sadie!

(I just got a great deal on sea salt in bulk too--great for those purifying baths...mmm.)

and sigh. That really does sound good about now. Enjoyed, and hey? I know you are new here (at least I think you are--so many aliases I quit trying to figger them out)
But would you mind if I challenge you to a follow up on this one?

Write and tell us about the experience of the bath--tell us what you pour into the water, and are there candles, do you read in the tub? Am I asking too many questions? giggle. Of course I am.

But if you are up to it, I would love to hear...

Thanks? I type too much. Must be the merlot.

Sadelite- I think that I shall take your advice. It definately seems very sound.

karen- That sounds like it would be a good challenge for everyone to describe their bath experience... I'll let you know what I come up with.

We are all equal but we’re individually different

I also like this poem,
Good rhyme good flow,
Minor mechanical things might be done,

alllll gone

at the end perhaps.
Serenity is correct, more poems are a good idea,
Naturally that will need further study,
I hope you can enjoy being in hot water.

I love this poem! Reminds me of J.R.R. Tolkien's work. If you ever get the chance to read his hobbit Ode to the bath at the end of the day I think it might bring a smile to your face. Well done Sadelite.

SEA,
You got that write.   I'd be doomed to -ell (yell) without a bath! Hot bath to you!
                                  Sadelite

the_loner_23,
Glad you thought so.   I've been so heavy in my thought lately that I thought it wise to lighten up.  Baths are miracles.

                                  Sadelite

Shara Rose,
     I bet I know what you're thinking!
Go grab that bath while it's still hot!  Don't forget the towel!
                                   Sadelite
Magic mystery,
Super soaker, eh?  Love the sound of those words.  The beer?  You can have the beer and trade it for a nice cup of steaming tea!   Glad you like it.  Enjoy the "suds"
                                  Sadelite
Serenity blaze,
Hm. Never thought of myself as a Sadie, but more as a satelite, always orbiting somewhere out there!  But, Sadie does have a certain ring to it!  I can do Sadie...
As to the challenge, i'm definitely not in one of those romantic moods that i want to ponder things like that; so i'll meet your
challenge, but in a different way.  Enjoy!

    BATH AT YA BLAZE!
Buzzing through the paper
I read it loud and clear
“Huge incredible white sale-
only happens once  a year!”

I crumpled up the newspaper
removed it from my lap,
grabbed  the old tennies,
and my purse by its long strap.

The mercantile was open
But I could barely shove me in.
Feet stopped. Glaring eyes.
Man this is pandemonium!

In trusty tennies and quick pivot toe
I  headed out the door.
Thoughts of new towels and sheets
No longer did I explore.

Sore feet, longggg soak
That would do the trick.
Stepped in burning furnace water
And lit the candlewick.

             Ahhhhhh

So in answer to your question, Blaze,
How did “Bath Away the Day” come to be?
With pen clutched between index and big toe
Words just kept on splashing me!

            Ahhhh…
                          Ha!

And  a splish splash to all you !

Ringo,
I think Serenity's challenge is a pretty good idea, too.  Grab your pen and let's get at it!   (Nah, you get at this one.  I just did mine!)
                                Sadelite

little wing,
Sade?   This might be a great idea.  I can't remember how to misspell Sadelite all the time.  Engrained--what can i say?
I also "strongly" agree.  Baths are esscential!  I've been known to take as many as three a day if needed.  Better than aspirin!

Ah yes, to the Professor,
Good flow is right!  And the water keeps on flowing!  Thank goodness!
Thanks for your advice.  I used in in my challenge.  Teach me more.   You're the Prof!
