Watching Fire

I see you
dancing circles
a rage of flames
beneath smoke
raw emotions curling
covered by
thick grey gauze
allowing me to see
bits of embers
under cover
I am drawn
to this heat
that passion
does provide
its elements
of invite
aroused I watch
with pleasure
not driven away
by fear of alarm
reaching towards
the slow burn
to stir the glow
closer with fingers
unable to withdraw
in blazing glory
and understand such
mastery of destruction
the beauty to engage
among the blue of fuel
or left alone in ash
knowing when
the smoke clears
what could be left
is fire

I miss your work, and I miss this place. I'm still around watching and reading...just not as often as I like.

Miss you, Lady

Awesome work here as usual. You make me want to write this well.

I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU!

Sounds like you best get some dark glasses or you just might burst into flame.
I thought the warm wether was just ariving there, was I wrong.

Live like it's your last day...
Dance like nobody's watching...
Love like you've never been hurt...

This is a perfect read for our first cool snap of the season.

and I won't get into how drawn I am to fire...my name says it all.

Hmmmmm
Funny thing . . .
Just the other day I loaded my new firey pic'.
Are we sharing a wavelength?
Burning the same candle?
Maybe it's the solar flares?
Haloween spooky, h.

Love the poem, of course!
