Horses and Daisies He rides a horse of weary trot A dappled gray of was and not That stops along the muck of seem To pluck at daisies of his dream A reprobate as spirits go A wit of age and melted snow A dandelion of lurid wine A salt that’s left of dried up brine Laughable to young and spry He cannot tell the truth from lie He nibbles at the daisies fair With humor, wit and not a care Tongue to busy to bulge the cheek And fantasy his nose does leak He smiles and guile’s a style of rile Chantilly’s lace a rose of wile. He means no harm he says in force This preen around, this risqué course |
