Its cold tonight… I stepped outside to pat my dog And heard the owls laugh at me. I saw the stars gaze down on me… (They’re always looking down on me.) I’m home alone, With just my tears. But its ok, I’ve found some peace… It’s in the pain, There’s peace in pain. Haven’t you felt it… When you take a step You breathe a breath To make a sound To stand your ground The pain will always cling to me When owls howl and laugh at me And when the stars peer down on me (They’re always looking down on me.) Gentle Spirit, there's always something about the stars. they're just so.. unreal.. sometimes. Thanks for the reply  Dixie, trust me, pain is not what you want peace in, because it still exists.. its just realising that pain is the only thing that is faithful (apart from God of course, but, y'know). Just trust me, here isn't any good either. I wish it was better for you though  Noah, you're probably right. And there are alot of things that comfort... its just they can't take the pain away, so they just become another factor. But its ok... GG-- I KNOW of what you write here. sometimes there can be peace in pain, when you realise there just isn't anything more you can do about a certain situation or your feelings, you just find a certain peace, and from that comes strength. Brad, thank you sir I'm glad you think so.Linda, I believe you're right, I know that as long as I accept the pain it won't leave. But I only find peace in it for seconds, minutes, maybe hours at a time... only when it is otherwise too great to handle. Sometimes it is the only way to let yourself know its ok, when you can embrace the situation... because crying just hurts, too much. It was a rather annoying night, I had a killer migraine and this darn owl just kept screeching, and I step outside and its just fullll of stars, even the light of the stars made my head worse, I knew it was more then irony, they're just plain MEAN! lol Thanks for the reply Always, Alyssa - And so it was that time stood still - |
