It's much smaller than you thought laying in the glass case at Donner Lake. And you try to imagine being the little girl in the crude cabin crowded with people for days and weeks and months. And everybody smells so bad. And the snow is so high. And you can't go anywhere or do anything. And all you think about is food. And you have eaten your shoes and the hides and the dog. And you sit. And you sit. And mother is cooking some God awful something. And you sit. And all you have is this little doll. [This message has been edited by dingusjr (10-22-2003 03:32 PM).] |

Seeing this tragedy through the eyes of one child packs a powerful punch... and leaves such an ache. Well done!! |

The importance of things changes with circumstances. What a vivid picture you paint. |

Beautifully done. Isn't it odd how this tragic time resounds through the years? We can still identify. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Larry, this is soooooooo eartaching, dearest friend, this reminded me so much of when my cousin Tria was abused when she was young and then her life changed and her leaving her Raggedy Ann doll behind in my sandbox symbolized the heartbreak so much! (wipes tears) God Bless You, sweet friend, I pray for all these children who have to feel this pain, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Larry, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth |
