Tainted fatigue memories
Fighting for freedom
Spinning in a downward spiral
Worn on the chest of survivors
You clutch your bronze star
In the cold night air
Protecting weary aching feet
Won in combat, sifting through golden grace
Given to you time and time again
By women whom you loved
And pointed, stared and mocked
Deeding the valor at the suggestion they still care
Pointing a gun to their face, and playing the clown
Pretending to be a foreign lieutenant
Caught in the storm of your actions
Turned loose, doing harm beyond repair
And what’s good for you, stifles all who care
Becoming your own creation and nightmares
Pretty stale to neglect needs
Of a human child
Drowning with a troubled heart
While you breath excitement into the air
With another woman
To drunk to care

I've never hated before...
Until Now...

Lee, I have lived days like this and am ever grateful to not be living that life now no matter how trying times are now. This is very poignant writing, done very well...hugs.

Wow....Lee, this is a power packed piece,
speaking so strongly of another and their
behaviors... Sadly, I was once told, in
wine there is truth...meaning that from the
lips of the drunkard are his true thoughts,
for it is then they have the courage to
speak what they feel....

I feel for anyone who has ever had to endure
the anxiety that goes with that situation.

Certainly can age one quickly....very
quickly....

BTW...thanx for the wonderful remarks to
my duet with Cpat....pleased you enjoyed,
and I assure you the Sea will return again,
soon.
