![]() Heart of Autumn By: Vandana and Noah Eaton 10/11/03 Raking leaves, forming the colors in crossword puzzles Foraging the October interlude with September fire I make contact with the abridged dusk Bobbing for apples in this warm cider twilight And your lingering grin comes to me like a yellow jacket Savoring the rationed marrow from the raspberry bushes Leaves falls down on the ground It's autumn here and october too September gone with the summer memories of love and summer gone and now in the heart of autumn Bright lights shine out over the bridge Tonight on the harbor it feels a bit too brisk Wearing your knitted sweater takes everything back Towing this wheelbarrow of pumpkins I'm aware of all so many blessings But your single one is Cool Whip on pumpkin pie Shared between pilgrims And children with dirty hands but happy faces... Let the bright light of a sun comes And let the love stay in the autumn of love all the leaves dry and october stays till the dawn... ![]() I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth I can see the sun set and I perceive ***Live*** [This message has been edited by Mistletoe Angel (10-11-2003 08:23 PM).] |

Ahh, Noah... lovely to see your work in here again, especially something like this, a collaboration... you know that I love collaborative work and this is no exception. I'd have to say that the thing I appreciate most about this is its sensibility to the common, rustic experience of suburban humanity. Everyone knows what is written here, and yet it's articulated so well, that I cannot help but look out the window and renew my appreciation for autumn. Very nicely written, you two... you should be proud of this. Brian Faith is a fine invention |
