Dust

I sweep my dust into a heap
And pat it down to go to sleep
And asked the wind to leave it there
A sigh that holds my love and care

A phantom lives within the dust
A knight that rides in armored rust
Seeking heaven and its worth
Since his birth upon this earth

He’s ridden far and wide the scene
Even ridden in his dream
Ridden down his every lead
Alas they all have gone to seed.

Both head of knight and horse are down
His face is fixed into a frown
He sings a song to keep him cheer
He sings out loud my love is here

As favor that is pinned his mail
Points in breeze where he must trail.

The only dust I can find is on my pillows from lack of sleep.

Wonderful lead in verse and as always, you feed the mind to begin wondering where it is going to lead.

Excellent writing from beginning to end but the above lines really give much to this piece.  It is always a pleasure to read your works and this one is no exception.  Well done sir.

If at first you don't succeed..try try again. It's not over 'til it's over. As long as there is breath there's still a chance for what this knight seeks. I love reading this!!

Sy...I don't know how these slip by me,
but I sure do enjoy uncovering them later.

Agreeing with Martie...poetic gold...
