Something in the wind The times they are a changing A new age is dawning Fatal shots ring out Kennedy lurches forward We hardly knew ye Taking it to the streets Tear gas and riot clubs swinging The world is watching Incense smoke curling Acid soaked minds expanding Smelling the rainbow Foot prints on the moon Wood stock. The summer of love Nam is a bad trip paladin |

Love this...you covered a period of time that I love, but I am just slightly too young to remember it with any clarity. Enjoyed this so much! Patricia |

"When I landed in Vietnam I hardly got to see Saigon They lined us up and called the role And off we went on long patrol... I may be crazy, but I think not I'd swear to God that I smelled pot but who'd have pot in Vietnam? "whatya think ya been sittin' on?" |

Yes the 60's were a time of big change for this country. There was a lot of negative stuff going on, but the winds of change can bring good things too. Now it's the year 2003.. have we learned anything? I for one have learned to smell the roses. A little choice going on. Interesting poetry you write. The time came as it comes to all I had to answer 'nature's call' I was stumblin around in the moon-lit haze Met a little cat in black PJays (Ammo belt, B.F. Goodrich Sandals)before Birkenstock) He said our squads campin' down the pass Smell your squad blowin' grass And by the smell you're smokin trash Brought you taste of a special stash (Straight from Uncle Ho's victory gardens, call it Hanoi Gold) His squad and my squad settled down Passed some lovely stuff around All too soon it was time to go The captain got on the radio Said: Hello head quarters We have met the enemy And he has been smashed!!! ~sighing~ scarey times... Teenaged years should have been more fun... M darn it I always spell scary wrong... I use to think my Grandparents saw the greatest range of discoveries..the electric light, the motor car, the plane, TV's, man going to the moon. We are seeing much advancement in our lives too. And Toe...I have heard those same stories and more from my husband...only it took him over 3 decades to let me know what he held in, all that time. ![]() ![]() (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is beautiful! (sigh) It is this decade (which I sadly never got to live in) that inspires and gladdens me most of all for our nation, many would call it a time of naivety but I think this was the closest time we got toward what true freedom and love is! (sigh) Thank you so much for taking me back, sweet friend, I love it, we all love youn so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Robert, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth |

The nicest trips in the 60's were the ones where you "smelled the rainbows"!--or so I've been told. lol ![]() ![]() EA |
