The Beatles disband
You changed in so many ways
Long and winding road

One deadly volley
The grounds of Kent State bloodied
Four dead in Ohio

Hear the bell toll
Freedom rings with muffled tones
Two hundred years have passed

The war is over
There are no welcome home parades
Weeping at the wall

Spinning mirror balls
Hair blowers in the men's room
Life in the fast lane

paladin

....a knight without armor

A powerful collage -- made me think of Billy Joel's song, "We Didn't Start The Fire"...  Now, what would you say about the 80's...???

Now you took me through a decade that I remember more clearly...especially the late 70's when I was in my teens.  OK...ready now for the 80's.  I call this the decade of big hair and Wall Street!  LOL

Enjoying your work this morning!

Ah, days gone by. We always talk about the 'good ole days' but I wonder if those days were really all that good. ???

A marvelous write and it's good to see you.

ALmost sums it all up, well done. There has to be something in there about it being my most romantic decade though
