With my darkling

The darkness portends
while its' power pretends
that light will bring balance
while the show never ends

But lies wrapped in shadows
or the truth, wrapped in gold
neglect the cold greyness
where our true lives unfold

in cold depths of winter
on a hot summer day
the sound of her laughter
or the silence to pray

the beauty in children
or the hatred in war
the merciless desert
the true peace on the shore

and the warmth in your heart
or the coldness in mine
its the unfeeling contrast
where our lives are defined

Very beautiful. We contain everything. The shadows and the light.
Enjoyed your write.

I like what you said about the truth wrapped in gold!

A touching poem Jason, you moved me with your words.

Jason...I tried to pick a favorite stanza,
but I simply love the whole thing.
Wonderfully penned, poet sir.
