Impossible, this fleeting dream of passion, of love’s torrential flow of ecstacy into the raging sea. I see you there, flowing gown, hair following the winds as my breath quickens and I reach out to touch you. Empty, my palms as you escape me, wandering a path only you know. Looking back for but a moment, smiling in a way that says I should hasten my gait, follow you into the veil of mist beyond the trees. I hear you there, splashing delicate toes in the cool waters below a roaring fall. Yet, when I arrive.....you have slipped away yet again. Ever consuming, elusive....taunting me. If you knew of my torment as tears flow freely from my face. The stains of love dot my pillow, the cries of love echo the walls of my room. My bed torn asunder as though from the throes of passion. I shall rise now, though each thought will be of seeing you yet again. In my dreams I will find you, and then we shall swim the crystal pool as one. |
