Midnite's mask unveils as flowers fill the dawn,
running wild down hills from nets as frost comes on,
blaring dots, yellow as september's schoolsbuses
neon lights on summer's worn out mats,
to herald in the fall.

Surprise to eyes, when thought all growth now locked in hibernation's stall,
as stars now simmer long into the still dark dawn,
and leaves freefall, trail silverbirds gone southward bound,
deluded that they too are winged right now.

As confirmations come on little truths ive sown in 40 plus,
the cycles seem to drag me through and spin me round,
as fall and summer intertwine
faced oppostite on mirrored sides,
and share eachothers costumes for this time,
before the breath of frost will come and silence all,
and haunts of halloween will stain the autmunn sky.

In reading braille along a holy shrine,
tips of fingers grasp for some thing that may stick a while,
but sadly gather only wisps of air,
though this Ive grown to know -

Stay planted on the ground and witness what is now,
but seek above, while fixed as stars upon their moment's glow,
before life's quicksand locks you in to claim your soul.

And everything about life's sand is so slow when young, but so quick as we age.

I enjoyed reading this, great imagery.

Lady, what an artist you are, this was stunningly beautiful!!!!

Surprise to eyes, when thought all growth now locked in hibernation's stall,
as stars now simmer long into the still dark dawn,
and leaves freefall, trail silverbirds gone southward bound,
deluded that they too are winged right now.

There are no words that I can use which would do justice to this poem....

ASTOUNDING and thank you for writing and sharing.
Hugs Lee J.

inkedgoddess - you write with much depth of feelings, as your pen leaves the words on pages of blue. Excellent...

This was wonderful inked one...
Some brilliant lines here...describing two seasons facing each other in mirrored opposites. I quite liked that metaphor...

I'm keeping this one. Hope you knew that already, dear poet. Autumn does fade into winter, but you keep yourself grounded in spring thoughts.

Even in its sadness, this is such a wonderfully well written uplifting piece.
