Time, that merchant of wares, ever present.
Selling seconds to souls, selling infinity to
death, bartering moments away as casually
as a breeze across a clover laden field.

This scoundrel that wages war on me daily,
who has taken away the foliage from the
tree, who bends the limbs of my youth and
waters the lilies waiting for my stone.

Whispering I, to this rascal of dark and
untrusting eyes, with a smile that would
enchant the world. Asking him the one
question, an unknown we all share...
When....when?

Silence, more quietening than the mortician’s
humble abode. Deafening to some, those
whose ears ring from the lack of words
as a heart beats more vigorously in wait
of an answer.

“When the raven flies east, the sun sets
west and the rooster crows upon the morn.”

Befuddled, walking away empty handed,
pondering the words. When? Knowing
not the answer for...

Only time knows.

Another word picture! However the entire write was in picture form! Loved it! Subtle whimsy too!

Ask not, "When,"
Ask instead, "What time is it?"
Then seize the moment!
It's all yours!
Who cares "when"?

'Tiz feathers that make the bird -
Always remember to keep them fluffed
but, never, EVER ruffle them!

Hi Barry,
I wrote a poem about "Time" yesterday.
Of course, it would never be as good as yours.
Your writing is so beautifl, Barry.

I always try to find something to critique.
I always fail.

Thank you Magnus.  A pure pleasure to read...

Always love your style, Barry -- a kind of "poetic zephyr", if you will...

Such a ponderance recalls the edge of the chasm...spending too much time only tempts the faint foot.
Always impressive Mr. Magnus...

The truth rests upon
the raven wings,
for the sun goes west
and the rooster always sings

Long time since my last glimpse of your word ....
            still astounding, as always.
