There is life beyond these walls where real people live real lives where a hug is actually two arms holding you tight, warm breath stirring your hair, and air squeezed right out of you. There is life beyond these walls where rain falls softly in the dawn and you awaken to the sound of snoring and the heat of a living breathing body next to you. There is life beyond these walls where real tears fall and are noticed where someone asks you why do you cry, are you happy, are you sad, can I help, what did I do? There is life beyond these walls one to be cherished and cultivated, on to be joyous in, to creat in something more than fantasies and fairy tale dreams. There is life beyond these walls. |

It is so. I have lived this very thing, and would have been moved by the thought even if your poem hadn't been so wonderfully written. It's out there, it's waiting, and you can go out to it. Or as I did, wait and perhaps if you're infinitely lucky, it will come to you. Reading this helped me decide to post a poem of my own about that very thing, one I wrote almost seven months ago but was never brave enough to post. It's called Maginot Man, and when I have it up, I'll come back here and give a link. Thanks for both -- the poem, and the little extra bit of bravery. There! I did it! Make my day! /pip/Forum81/HTML/002744.html [This message has been edited by James_A_Fraser (09-12-2003 10:39 AM).] |

Beautiful! It really got me thinking. So much that I can't narrow down a response. I can't help but thinking once you break out of your own walls, you have to enter into other walls that hold that life you describe. Is the life really just outside myself? I'll be contemplating this for awhile. Thank you. |

there is life beyond these walls...it's true though sometimes the words created from the heart unseen...can touch and ease the pains, the hurts, the losses especially when one is alone. Nicely written Maureen |

Awesome you. I have to laugh though. It is precisely that life that keeps me running back to Pip time and time again. Here, beyond the walls, if you tell someone you have had an epiphany they ask if it's malignant. But I do understand--but I'm going to keep my internet angels awhile as I try to maintain some balance, yanno? Hugs you. This aptly painted the aching reality of the long distance relationship. All true and yes, sad. But sadder still, was doing without at ALL. <--for what it's worth m'friend. Love ya lady. |
