The Charge of the Knight’s Tirade Sir Silver Knight of old was emboldened with bright gold. His shield was thick and thin from the gold and silver in. He rose up one early morn, and after shaved and shorn entered with wanton wile beyond his wooden stile. He rifled through his stacks and found a ten-piece lack, so went he in a rage upon a country raid. Red of face with angered brow he pillaged each village cow, and looted the grove of nuts beyond the village huts. When there upon a branch, he plucked with sharpened lance a crow with bow in tow and arrows that seemed to grow. They glistened in the sun as he stood there stiffly stunned for ten pieces glittered from the shaft he thought the crow quite daft. Then feathers began to fly up they billowed in the sky, as each silver piece began to fall and the crow ceased his frightened call. For the Silver Knight of old plucked him dead and stiffly cold, and gladly left the scene he’d made in his wanton Knight’s Tirade. ©September 10, 2003 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
