Sleep on my behalf a little bit

(A chapter of the Saga’s marmalade)

Silence poses doctrinal questions,
So sleep on behalf of me a little bit,
And buy me sugar-gated dreams,
Buy a “vowel” for the two of us,
a symbol to feminize the fact,
a white watch to tell the sagas,
and buy the poem covers,
Because the night is long and awake

And sleep on behalf of me a little bit,
on behalf of my grief,
Embroider my mother’s face
Line my eyes and become my yearns
Be a rhyme on my waist
Be the father of surprise,
the named features of the dawn beneath the stray arbor,
And a cardamom grain under the hooded tongue,
a shadow on the scanty shade,
And sleep on my behalf

Purchase the chlorophyll rug,
Suture my pocket,
Be the midway of a long mont,
ignite the exhausted candles of speech despite the poem’s ache,
Be the lisped “R” under the blindfolded marble,
and Effect an embroidered voice

And sleep on my behalf a little bit,
Be the Ark on my sea,
Be my fate,
Be My sweet basil,
And become the pathway

Dr. Iyad Salah

Sois mon destin, mon basilic doux
Et sois mon sentier.

Poème d'origine arabe transmis en anglais puis en français

the opening line... sets a stage for questions that are only answered with time..and with an understanding the answers themselves are probably questions yet to be explored...

re-visit to this allowed me to appreciate the form and the slight turnings on words that may indeed be a result of different backgrounds...and add a refreshing light to the way images and words do so often vary based on perspective...

I love you too al dear Friend. Indeed I feel very flattered, but I can add that it’s the beauty of your soul that makes you look at this, this way.
