I feel it, like a thread
of smoke, a shimmer of threat
on the horizon,
feel the wind pull, pull to me,
bring the smell of it,
a tiny bite underneath,
an imagined heat,
image of a distant pain.
It is heartbreak there,
just this side of the mountain;
and it’s moving this way fast.

Wow. I'm scared. seriously. That poem left a chill down my spine. maybe because it hits so close to home. I'm moving away from the mountain! Can you outrun heartache? I doubt it. ;-)

Sometimes very sensitive people can feel something like this coming. I hope that all is well. Emotive and meaningful writing for such a short poem.

There is a certain beauty in this write of impending doom... even as it gives chills that scurry unpleasantly along my backbone. *S* A long way of saying... this is superb!
