I Love You Best

I recall the fire in your green eyes
like a wave
I drink the salt
and the wine of your kiss envelops me
as the tenderness of your hands
leave me drifting with the waves
and the children playing in the sand
never notice
but the old man fishing smiles
remembering his days
suddenly we deny what we feel
because we must
listening to the wind blowing
I dance where I want
seeing every dream you ever had
I lie helpless in your arms
as you breathe my life with each sigh
and I don’t have to pretend
that I don’t love you
Cause
I
do
