I listened
to your words
and understood them
in spanish

though I could not speak them
back, in your tongue
I knew without a
doubt

That the repeated
words
"El diablo"
next to my name

Was not a good thing

and without compulsion
I counted back from
deis
and arrived at
the soul meaning
of uno
the count of my
soul
