Writing feelings from the
depth of heart
she tries to describe
her thoughts

Sometimes writing of pain
embedded deep within
Writing so that maybe some healing
will come for the scars
of heart aches

Most times she writes of
the happiness she
feels with the love of her life
of the stars and moon
the velvet skies
moonlit nights
whispers of love from
the breeze

She tells of the true love
they have found
wanting others to share
in the feelings
of her joy

One day she happened
upon a place
where she could share her thoughts
feelings of her heart
She knew when she first came
even before joining this group of writers
that her writing was so little compared
to the talents she found on
these pages
so little, except that it did come
from her heart

She then decided to write her heart
on these pages
and to her amazement
these talents
these giants among writers
accepted her and called these
writes from her heart
poetry

These caring people have
supported her
encouraged her
have given to her their love
and friendship
from their
hearts

Still
some days she wonders
if these writings from her heart
really do belong here
amongst all these
giants
all these real writers
of real
poetry

revisited for all who think their
writing isn't as good as others

I know exactly how you feel. It can be somewhat intimitating at times--but I can assure you, sweet poetess, you DO have a place among the giants. I as a reader, thoroughly enjoy the songs from your heart--and they are songs to me, for they flow directly into my heart and fill up my soul.
Never leave the land of the giants--for you are among your peers and kindred spirits.

Loves and appreciative hugs,
Linda

When I read so many poems so good
This good poem
Make me think you looking in my soul

Oh Ethel, you just have to KNOW that you have a place, a very special place, here...I know these feelings, too, but also know that the only way I am ever going to hone my skill is to throw it out there, and the Giants at Passions are gentle giants!!  In my eyes, you're right up there, especially after reading this one...~S~

Ethel...we all sing songs from the heart..the words may be different, and the rhythm, but the place of origin and the intent are what makes a poem special...like this one.

Your poetry is very special, so don't forget that you always touch someones heart.
I don't get to Passion's as often as I would like these days, but you alway touch me with your heartfelt poems!

Hugs,

Listen Kiddo,  I am only 6 ft and an inch
or so....so I don't qualify as a giant...
Ohhhh,  you were talking about poets?
(I knew that)  ...  Ethel,  your heart makes
you so very tall,  for it takes great courage
to write from the heart and to continue to
do so.

Please never stop.

Oh my, Ethel, this is a masterpiece. And how well I can relate! It can be very intimidating here, as well as loving and welcoming.

I think there are many of us who relate and are frightened by the 'giants.' But if we hold hands and support each other, we can be little giants and who knows, one day we may be the giants!

'Writing so that maybe some healing
will come for the scars
of heart aches'

What a wonderful line and please continue to write and the healing will come.

Love ya lots ... hugs, Marti

Ethel..Ethel...You are right up there with the so called 'giants'!
I feel this way...a lot of the time..
and wonder if I will ever be any good.
We all love your romantic writings.

ethel.
you have honed your own style and grow along with it, and that is your own gift, because you do touch others, and that's what counts much of the time,
but i do confess,
i would like to see ethel do dark..........

(chuckling)... I'm always wondering if I'll get squished in here... one of them giants step on me or something and I'd be flatter than a bug run over by a steam roller.

you have heart ethel..and you have sincerity in the words you share...   both are key elements in writing anything... don't sell yourself too short my friend.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Ethel, believe me, you do belong with us all because I believe every poet who writes with honesty and heart is the best poet of all, and you are one of the most honest poets I know! (kiss on cheek) I myself was shy when I first joined Passions less than three years ago, and to be honest, it took so much longer for me to get accepted than most poets here. It took me an entire year to get noticed. Never did I give up, but I truly felt I was unworthy and felt small compared to the others here and I felt a little unloved to be honest. Then, when a poet picked on me and harrassed me publicly (I will not mention her name) I wanted to leave and I was crying for so long, but then when I left a message saying I was going to leave that Christmas of 2001, one year after I joined, so many poets sent me e-mails, comments, and E-cards begging me not to and that it was wrong for that poet to harrass me like that and the proper thing would be for her to e-mail me privately! THAT was when I knew many cared for me at Passions and why I still am here, because of her harrassing me, only made me stronger! (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, you do belong and you are loved by all of us, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
