 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was just an invitation to a party with some friends I didn't say for sure I'd go, but that it all depends But now I find I'm standing in a crowd afloat with beer I feel your eyes, they peel me like a grape! The room is unfamiliar, and the faces very strange The music's thumping louder, and the whole place seems deranged And as I turn, we're just two strangers in a stranger place Your eyes meet mine, and peel me like a grape! You pierce through my composure with your penetrating gaze Subject to your exposure, and your sharp all-seeing ways I know that I can't hide, each layer you can see right through and with your eyes, you peel me like a grape! I get the eerie feeling that my soul has been exposed You've seen right through the solid door that I was keeping closed My layers have been pulled away, I'm naked to the day Your eyes caress, and peel me like a grape! Now I am at your mercy, and will be forevermore I don't care what is up ahead, or even what's in store I've come to love your tender gaze, and all your loving ways So, with your eyes, please…peel me like a grape!
