Just a moment of your time
While I make a little rhyme
To express what’s on my mind,
At least at this moment.
It was before the break of day
And I was starting on my way
To earn to keep my debts at bay,
Reimbursing for what was spent.
Pools reflect as I passed by
Remnants of a sobbing sky
Just another nightly cry,
This has been a year of much rain.
I arrived before the twilight
Before the escape of the night
And yet there was no sunlight
All was cloud filled once again.
Now I hope you understand
I don’t wish to work on my tan
And I am used to beige and bland,
But what about a few sunny days?
Not for me since I don’t care
But for the children to share
So they can get outside there
And burn some energy in play.
Oh yes, too well I know
They’ll be out running to and fro
Making noise outside my window
If they finally are able to get out,
But they need that time again
That has be too short for the rain
Indoor play is just not the same
For there you can’t scream and shout
In happiness of simple play
And get the fresh air of the day,
But yet the summer has gone away;
And a year will pass before it’s back,
So now the school year begins
Add all day gone are children
To classrooms they’re cloistered in
And activities of fun they’ll lack.

The days and summer do pass so quickly by..
and today the children do indeed head back to the classroom.

I liked the message in this.Our kids started school 3 weeks ago, but during the schoolyear I keep them just as active aas the summer.We play sports, we take drives and walk down short paths, we have snowball fights, go sledding whatever we can do to get out.Nicely penned.
