The dream was over
at the start of day--
no gentle backlight
uplights easing
the grays away
to pinks
against the cobalt blue
worrying the sky--
realize--realize
realize-my-child--
we are hypnotized.
talking stories
to the fire
as the split tongue hisses
another
new
day
squalling our goodbyes.

Oh my, Karen...

This hits hard tonight...I can't even explain...

Hugs you... ...love you, lady.

(smiling)...

So the heat
slap beat dreams
of stories told
makes one know both
the young and old

flicker jest the hiss of fire
let the moon alone retire
our eyes must watch
the disbelief
the wondering tongue
of the souls heart thief

And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots!"

You know, dear Karen, you always take me to where I've never been. And always you give me reason to admire you even more...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
