(This is dedicated to a fine songwriter who passed away yesterday, the lengendary Warren Zevon. You'll always be kept in our hearts!) Warren Zevon (1947-2003) Keep Me In Your Heart For A While By: Noah Eaton 9/8/03 "Dry your eyes, my little friend Let me take you by the hand." Rest easy, and rock steady It only takes one to strike up the band And he says, Keep me in your heart for a while, I'll only sleep when I'm dead I've been paying my dues too long Trying to find the right place at the right time... Trying to rest my head... Well even dogs can shake hands We all could use more sentimental hygiene Too often we have that ace of spades reversed As we go backroad trippin', travelin' in lightning I've been thinking about life and death I'm not afraid, just a bit perplexed, I guess We go changing like the seasons We're desperate to meet the ends, that only leaves us restless... And I remember what you said, Keep me in your heart for a while, I'll only sleep when I'm dead I've been paying my dues too long Trying to find the right place at the right time... Trying to rest my head... Lay your ear down upon the railroad track Believe me, the caboose will come in Climb that escalator to heaven And hasten down the wind I can hear your static through Mohammed's Radio Delayed tears streaming wherever you go Seems even that werewolf with the pina coloda Let his hair down and has been tamed But everyone can be Mr. Bad Example Yet we all get our bite from the golden apple Every gorilla desperado and midnight cowboy Will keep you in your heart for a while Keep you in your heart for a while KEEP YOU IN YOUR HEART FOR A WHILE... And we hear you say, Keep me in your heart for a while, I'll only sleep when I'm dead I've been paying my dues too long Trying to find the right place at the right time... Trying to rest my head... Now you can rest your head... I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth I can see the sun set and I perceive ***Live*** [This message has been edited by Mistletoe Angel (09-08-2003 10:06 PM).] |

After reading your compassionate poem, I went back to his photo and said a little prayer of my own. Love & Eternal Light, EA |
