Reflections

I have worn my heart
between the lines,
carried my days
upon each morn,
a smile to awaken each and every,
the rains of devotion
having lost their sweetened taste.

Collections of maybes and  might haves
slid between plastic sleeves,
journaled for time travel
for those days when
reflections are needed
to polish my discipline,
elevating my mood
disguising the shell once etched in gold
now tarnished, not from wear,
but from lack of use.

Blended with the impure,
never saying never again,
the sentimental rides the current
surrendering to no one
until the scale is balanced once more.

Much enjoyed.

You are so talented, Lady...no matter which name you
use.   I just wanted you to know that I read your
beautiful poem. Even though, I don't always reply,
I do love to read your poetry.
Hugs to you
Ethel
