At the edge and a doorway,TX

From a distance.. I thought that I saw you standing there staring at me.
Telling me what I did wrong and all the pain that was inside of me came spilling to the floor.
I thought that I could cry, but nothing came when I opened my mouth.
I was crushed.. You were crushed.
From a distance.. I looked into your eyes and melted one more time believing in you and the things that you do or did.
That was all lies and I layed there and took it all in.
I would have breathed the clean air that night, but it was all too much for me..
From a distance.. You seem to see right through me. When all the time you never understood that I was there for you.
I guess I just wasn't good enough to be the one to smile in your face.
From a distance.. You weren't looking hard enough to see me fall, but I did.
I did it all right in front of your eyes.
All for you.. All for you..
I buried my head as I feel to my knees and felt the tears coming..
Did you see me?
Did you hear me?
Did you know me?
From a distance...
Love,
Ladycat

Dancing is the loftiest, the most moving, the most
beautiful of the arts, because it is no mere translation
or abstraction from life; IT IS LIFE I

I've missed your poetry girlie!  You have always had a way of writing straight from the heart.  This, like I've come to expect from you, is poignant and heavy with meaning.  I love it.  Especially these lines:

"From a distance.. You seem to see right through me. When all the time you never understood that I was there for you."

Isn't that so true, sometimes? And more often than not, when it's apparent, it's too late.  sigh, well done here dearie.

Love ya,
Nic
