Dark comes quickly to the moor
A place of mystery, a mystique
so captivating yet fearful.

Bubbles slowly rise and
silently burst on the darkened
surface of a stagnant swamp
once teeming with life until...

One eve, a score of years ago,
a curtain of darkness engulfed
all that could be seen, no sound
came from this place now dead.
A place where evil walks the
squishing mire of earth, where
eyes glow against a lantern’s
piercing beam.

“Come” the silent inner voice beckons
as a chill brings a shiver from clammy
skin.   “Come into the night beyond
the briar and bramble, beyond the
once flowing brook.” The brook
now but a mere dying trickle of
fetid water.

Drawn by the voice, a sound seeming
to come from beyond the iron gate,
rusting and frozen shut.  Climbing
over the fence, leaping into darkness,
falling endlessly as a soul piercing
laugh echoes above.............

“Come, beyond the briar, the bramble
and brook....where darkness kills
the shadow and steals the curious
soul.”

I am following you, Mag. When are you going to take me there...huh? Part 2 cometh?

Sheesh, dude, I could feel my eyes getting wider and wider...like the eyes of my children when they watch a scary movie.

Poe would be proud!

Uh - I don't think I'll go unless you will hold my hand and stay close to me.  Kind of scary.  My eyes are wide open.  Hopefully Part II is coming?????????
