Some Thoughts What's best for you, whatever you decide, Is what you should enjoy at any cost. But if your very presence is denied, I'll shed a sorry tear for what was lost. But I can never lose that part of you, That now defines what's best inside of me. That part that always seems to pull me through, When black must blanket everything I see. So if I never stroke your velvet skin, Or breathe again while nestled in your hair, Until the end I'll carry you within And live on memories of what we share. To know we'll be together quiets thoughts Of sufferings This foolish pride has wrought. |
