Midst the loud The bold and brassy, almost silent in the crowd, softness overwhelmed. Whispers low Her lips near my ear, Words that I already know, We both understand. With a touch We leave together, Little said yet said so much, Our hands then gather. We depart, To the forest near, And down the gravel path start, As trees soft whisper. Summer breeze, Sky hidden from view By the canopy of leaves Warm shadows cover From the trail To a moonlit pond Where green fallen leaves take sail Again she whispers. Down the stream The green boat now sails We talk of our hopes and dreams In times yet to come. Now wordless The touch fades to thought, There is nothing but darkness, Remembered whispers. Back the path, Alone once again, There’s no noise or any laugh, The room is empty. I listen Coming on the breeze Through the window comes again Her soft sweet whisper. No party No green ships floating, Phantoms only memories Shadows that whispers. Gloom |

Gloom, She reminds me of a poem I wrote about a siren. I think this whisperer is the same. Lovely write. Maggie |
