I should hate you, but I don't. My life has never been the same since you walked away seeking money, power, laughs and fame. I understand one out of four could never be enough when you will always be a legend inside yourself. Now, I can count as many zeros as you wanted on your checks but I've already lived with all the sad effects of greed and seen the rot it places on the soul. Power doesn't ring my chimes yes, when I'm drunk and maudlin I'll admit I've helped turn countries upside down, but I've no dreams of empires to build; I'm just happy when my flowers grow. As for Broadway, Hollywood, sucking up to media trash, we always would have had to walk apart in those bright lights; I could never be one of the sights that fans came gawking at. Anyway, with my past anonymity is its own reward; anything else eventually is fatal. Don't get me wrong, I've read Ayn Rand too, I understand what burns in you; it's just that in the final count, all that I could ever offer is not the stuff that floats your dreams, and it would never be enough just to love you, and to make you laugh. ©2003 by icebox |

Which questions again, do we live in our dreams or in our breakfast? (don't answer that! at least not in less than 50 lines.) |

It's a simple thing that Dagney Taggart missed, eh? No joy, not ever. It may be a scarce commodity for the likes of us, but at least it's one card that's actually in the deck. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

But? :? Well when you grow old, and gray the loving, and the laughing is what you have left. Kinda puzzled, SharaRose @-->-- Of sound, and speech let all lift the hearer! |

Icy~ This one got to me. Isn't it ironic? Love that is...you think someone is nice, sweet but they just don't make your stomach roll...that is the person that is madly in love with you and treats you, ah, so good. The person that uses you, mistreats you and would never be a good partner in life...yep you got it...that is the one that gives you the butterflies just thinking about them...that is the one that walks away from the gaping hole in your chest...sigh..did I personalize? Sorry.. LOL...I loved this and I love you. pssst..these are my fav lines: and it would never be enough just to love you, and to make you laugh. True...so, so true. Susan |

Kaoru ~ Human greed is an interesting thing to watch. Thank you for commenting. JilGirl ~ It is probablty an age thing, but now I do feel this way about my priorities. Thank you for understanding. 1slick_lady ~ I just do not know the answers to these questions. I have always thought it best to die happy. S Arthur Grey ~ OK, I will wait to answer that. Ratleader ~ Transient joy maybe, the joy of pursuit. In that she was a female with male motivations. Doomed from the start I think, but of course, I have never looked like Gary Cooper. *smile* Martie ~ Well, thank you. Thank you for reading. SharaRose ~ Well, at least I do sometimes still get to laugh. What puzzles you? Susan Caldwell ~ In this particular case, I never thought she was nice; there simply was an undeniable magnetic attraction which was mutual until she found bigger magnets. *laugh* It took a lot of "medicine" to get past that one. I still occasionally stumble over odds and ends of anger that is residual. vandana ~ Glad to entertain. Thank you for reading. |
