How to hold a peach:

Why, tenderly
of course!
And be mindful
not to bruise it,
for it is fragile,
even when young
and firm.

I remember being
a young peach.

*laugh*

No, not in a jam, but I did have to dig out the old Allman Brothers "Eat A Peach" album.

This poem seems to have dredged up "Ain't Wastin' No More Time" which caused a cranky chorus, so I drifted over to Little Feat and all went back to sleep.

Ah produce!

I remember young tender peaches....we used to drive out into the orchard with granddad in an ancient Ford pickup with side boards on it and pick them early in the morning then take them to church and give the best ones away...

I'd eat them straight off the tree and wonder why Eve had gotten into so much trouble...

Too think I almost missed this! Wow, I find this a keeper. You may have been a young peach but their best when ripe.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
