 From Eagles Sigs ~~**~~ To still be friends Even when we do not agree on a situation Is what I think true friendship is To be able to talk without anger and discuss issues Things that happen to appear on this road of life Knowing that even if we do not agree We can still be friends having unconditional love and respect We both have our strong opinions and our own personal beliefs Can not we just agree to disagree at times We need to both realize that neither of us will ever change So we should not try to push our own beliefs on each other And to assure each other that we will always remain friends no matter what comes or goes I wish that we could talk and stay calm Even if we do have to agree to disagree AND THAT WE WILL STILL REMAIN FRIENDS [This message has been edited by garysgirl (06-12-2003 07:03 PM).] |

Ethel~ Hmmmmmmm, I am soooooooooo laughing !  You been reading my email ????? LOL ... I've got a little buddy I'll just HAVE to send this one to~ True friends ... agree to disagree on certain actions ... and still maintain the friendship~ True friends give total respect for the other to have an opinion that differs from their own ... without compromising their friendship~ True friends defend the friendship when others may try to tear it apart~ True friends speak behind a friend's back, the same thoughts they would speak to their face~ We should pick our friends ... but not to pieces~  Well, haven't I just made a speech, or what ? How timely~ Nice write ... I just hope people LIVE it~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

I must confess to being Mr Strong-opinions (and Mr-closed-minded as well) and most of my friends are very much like me and we have the most wonderful little arguments so I think I'll be sending this to all of them, you captured it perfectly. Also I think its something very relevant to ex-couples, I think many an ex-boyfriend and girlfriend who have got over the differences that caused a break-up and remained friends, will be able to relate to this. |

Marge, sweet Lady, You have told the truth! I believe to have a strong friendship, people have to work at it. To build the trust betwen the two, even in friendship.  (big hugggssssssss) Oh Ethel, it saddens me how small things like disagreements always seem to end friendships, dearest friend, I believe it is those differences that make friendships, or at leats should make friendships even stronger, so you get to know the truth and honesty of ones heart! (sigh) There have been a few even here who have "picked me to pieces" yet I won't let them bother me and just simply ignore them and wish them well and hope if they have a heart they can forgive me from before! That's right, it's perfectly ok to disagree. Reminds me of a quote I came across, that reads~ The firmest friendship's are formed with mutual adversity, like steal unites the fiercest flame. Really nice poem Ethel~ |
