Karelanne,

I smile at the memories, laugh at the silliness,
wince painfully from the dreams that
paint my mind on dark nights.

Enduring the clink of a solitary spoon,
the shuffle of a single chair...the air which
no longer holds the scent of you...the towel
now dry.

Seeing the mantle bare of what was, the
hearth of cold ash, a swing once swung,
now silent to the stir of passion.

I cried then,
that day when I closed the door.
When the only track through falling flakes
were my own. When ashes and dust said
farewell..

I still see your eyes, with death behind them
as you tried to tell me...I knew....

I held your hand that day, along that
road where walking lovers bumped hips,
touched lips...
... as nature smiled upon them..

Trembling so, as life drained selfishly
away, as the warmth of you slipped into
eternity...

We knew, we shared a delicate and fleeting
moment as I struggled to be your knight,
your brave warrior... and guard your last
moments from my streaming tears..

No one holds the tender feel of your lips
as I have...as I do...for with your dying
breath...I left my last kiss....until we
again walk, hand in hand.. among
Heaven’s stars...

Sleep well my love...

Barry,

I read this the first time and was choking back tears. I had to go back for two more readings.  Oh well, I needed a Friday night cry.

You are simply amazing.

...I'll follow suit with Serenity...for the name Karelanne drew me in as well...

and then of course, I sighed.

A beautiful tribute. The sadness brings a tear, but it's evident that a special love was shared.

What to say in the face of such a touching write???
I feel like anything I could say
would belittle what I think about
it and possibly the meaning
for which it's been written.

So
I'm just going to say
that I love it.

Thanx Cor.  If this were a person whom I had
known,  certainly would have been a touching
tribute...  thank you...

Don't worry Dixie...I won't.  Not in a million
years...

Sun,  good mornin to ya,  yeah...catchy
title huh.  I love that name,  is why I
used it,  and did once before in another
write...

Deb.  I think it could have been special,
had it been...though presently it was just
a part of an old romantic heart...as he
walks a path not even known to him...

Thank You...
