Your Sky

And, so I clutch the cross that lies on my neck
In grip for dear life in such a painful world
Tonight I realized your sigh and your sorrowful sky
And, no doubt I'm definitely my father's girl...

It's painted like a sunset that takes your breath
No mistake in the colors that are found
A part of me cries and dies just like you did
Yet I stand yet I fall to this ground...

Vivid it is and Oh God it feels like rain
I realized my Daddy's eyes and mine are the same
I'm beneath your sky, Dad, and all that it sends
No wonder it was so hard to breathe at the end...

I found my sigh to be just as loud as yours
Walk in never recognizing the world notices me
Heartache has a way of leaving it's mark on my face
And, now,I know what those aging lines mean...

Just as sure as the hand that writes these words
Your soul is engraved in what's left at last
Here I am, I'm you, living under your sky
And, living proof of the future and past...

I realized it all with just a simple lift
My reflection of you as I raised it to my lips
It holds and it eases this painful world
No doubt I'm definitely my father's girl...

Saunni, bless you Dear One, for writing such a beautiful poem about your father. He will always be alive as long as you live. You were, and always will be, your father's girl.

Loving hugs,
EA

Saunni,
I think this is the best writing I've ever read from you. I love this so much. I too wear a ring on a chain around my neck. With similar kinds of memories and emotion. Bless you dear girl. Peace and courage...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

That verse alone says so much to me.
Saunni, this is truly a poetic offering,
filled with a very special kind of love.

Wonderful write~

(smiles) There's always a sun in the sky for a reason, because you are daddy's little girl forever and he would always spare the sun for you so he can see you shine and dance away! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is the perfect Fathers Day gift, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Saunni, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
