Love suffers not the unkind in disguise or flowers from roots shallow, unwise, nor demeans itself on pillars to lean unaligned and cracked in disbelief, fear. Love opens not to the weight of ego or willfully crashes through intolerant stone nor burns to ash in flames of denial harboured and spread by human design. Love asks not for a season, a time, or a reason to live in dreams of the night nor holds out a hand week, fragile, and cold, unable to hold the essence of soul. Love, dear love, no, please don’t awake too far from home you’re branded a fake relax at ease, breathe in and exhale, I’m weighing your worth on a time scale. How long will you live, how soon will you die, in between do you try us all on for size, soar like a bird in sky of good words or land with a thump somewhere in the world? That’s it; I’m done, I can’t question love! Helen |
