Moonlit Hour

Sunset has long taken place over these hills
The stillness provided a softly kind of insane
Sleep couldn't come easy when the only thing resting
Were the moonbeams on my window pane...

Subtle light and delicate memories gathered strength
Irrupted the sweetness of sundown's power
Reality presented itself when I just wasn't ready
And, I sighed in the name of sorrow one moonlit hour...

Surely grace would interrupt at any given moment I thought
As I was a little lifeless staring behind these eyes
There, in the arms of nighttime's mighty hold
All good feelings, once again, passed me by...

Uncertainty slipped through right along with the rays
I had no where to run but inside my mind
One moonlit hour never felt so long before
Lying face to face with you there the whole time...

Darkness invited both the past and the present
Nature trespassed over what calm should be
Oh, I grieved, I did, within a moonlit hour
Leaving no room for pleasant to breathe...

It was a call to the unexpected in a quiet stare
And, a tear stained pillow as my witness I was there
In a single moonlit hour I touched all that I own
In a lasting impression of sadness I just roamed...

Darlin...I'm sending you many hugs, big strong hugs...as hard as practically possible.  You are loved, deeply and endlessly, and your heart is vast...opened to life...and love....you are most intensely aware...and the proud of spiritual embrace your entire being.  Love...Lee J.
