They say
the shortest path
from one
to another
Is a straight line
Yet straight lines seem
to elude me.
Backwards,
starting on fast
forward
Only to have to rewind.
Starting with intentions
for good
Doing all things I should
Seeming I enter things so blind.
Why is my life
this kind?

This is good......and there's nothing wrong with a straight line, my friend......I've lived long enough to find that detours take too much time!!! Go for that straight line, zero in on target, like you did here, and keep writing like this...great stuff!  ~S~

Shara,

I can so relate.  I never seem to do things the "normal" way...always starting at the end, backwards, whatever....great expression of the feelings..

SharaRose~
Ahhhhhh ... that proverbial 'straight line' concept~

Make mine detours ... for I would never want to miss the curves of life~

Nice to see you unleashing the muse, poetess~

Hi...thanks to all you girls for the words encouraging to keep the muse. Mine seems to be a bit temperamental. hehehe Will ya'll talk to her, or him..whichever it is? I know, I know....I'm bein' silly!

Sunnyone-- thanks so much for the encouragement. Will do. One can keep trying, and I certainly do. I always mean well, but it seems something gets messed up. :'(

Susan--thanks so much. I'm not glad you seem to share this malady, or whatever this is, but thanks for making me feel I'm not traveling this road alone.

Well Miss Marge...hehehe.. It sounds your detours turn out to be adventures. Mine on the other hand seem to be a small disaster at a time..add 'em all up though, and it becomes hard to do. I am so glad your good fortune has smiled on you. Bless ya!

Thanks girls,

Ohhhh so good.  I am going in a circular motion...been around the same mountain far too many times...always ending up where I started.  Oh, to draw a straight line and keep on the path.

So enjoyed.

You got me beat ... mine tends to run that way, too.  But then it is never boring.  Hahhaha!

Good read.

Thanks Patricia, and Janette.. It's not all that bad I would just like to get off the merry-go-round for a while. Then again...Along for the ride can also teach me things, too so it's a two-sided thing. I'd just like a break from it.
Thanks again girls.

Shara, this is a very good poem...
makes the reader think, and that's
a good thing.

Thanks, passing shadow we can but try, try again. It's not for a lack of trying that's for sure. Just once I would like to know what it's like to have "smoothe sailing." hehehe. We'll all get there..just have to keep on keepin' on! (an old 70's saying.)I think you're too young to remember those days.
