Time Rider

see him ride, ride,
no oasis in sight,
no calm-leaved arboretum
and no breath of singing lips,
no fruit of welcome,
only ride, ride,
dancing to the shear of time
the desperado call
from over the next rise
where he will find
no passage, no turning,
no hopeful eyes
to hold him still
and then no calm,
no moist and yearning
garden where
to lay him down forever;
see him ride, ride,
no oasis in sight...

Truth is, I'm not sure why I write poems like this.....folks who like my poetry mostly don't like this kind, though I do.

If I write one like this, or THIS, /pip/Forum64/HTML/001120.html it's guaranteed to take the plunge, even though it may be something I truly like.... but it seems I have to get 'em out of my system from time to time......
