I'm everything accused of me--
I am potential of "think not"
I hear the voices mocking me
I see myself a celtic knot.
I want a simple moment's peace--
I'm everything accused of me.

I fantasize that I am free.
I feel the bellied Bacchus laugh.
I touch the inner depths dis-ease--
I fear I am beyond my grasp.
I weep despair's eternity.
I fantasize that I am free.

I understand there is a need
and recognize the sanctity
I visualize an end to chains
and try to understand the pain
in hopes I can grow half a wing--
I understand there is a need.

First, when I refreshed I saw that both you and Icy had posted and I got so excited I nearly peed myself...

Second, the last stanza...oh my...Outstanding!

Last, funny you mention "wing"  I have been having dreams lately that revolve around me having wings of some sort...

Love it, love you!

What can I say? Excellent poem!

I accuse you of being a poet.

A BRILLIANT poet.

Guilty as charged... so keep it up.

I weep despair's eternity.

This is my favorite line, but they are all so good. So good.

Although I reposted mine,
I think I'm going to have to
retry the try
because things, and people, change,
don'tchaknow?

The poem would be great simply as a glance into the woman... but that last verse is superb, whatever the challenge. *S*

Excellent work... I'm glad you are. *S*

I fear I am beyond my grasp.

I know that feeling Karen...
and you will be free...and grow that half wing, if not the whole.

Thank you for bringing this challenge back.
It has given me something to look forward to this evening...so many to read and enjoy.

Thanks all for reading and especially for stepping up to the challenge once again.

And icebox? Your reply reminded me of an eerie Saturday night live skit with Jane Curtain and Gilda Radner.

Gilda is complaining that she has been feeling a bit off-kilter these days.

And Jane asks her to try to pinpoint this vague feeling of uneasiness.

Jane: "Do you think it could be your UVULA?"

Gilda shrugs: "I don't know Jane, I just can't seem to put my finger on it."

Still amusing, but another eerie moment from the original Not-Ready-For-Primetime-Players.

and smile with me folks, I'm just happy to be here with you all for awhile tonight.
