Whippoorwill-Whippoorwill

you walk
in shadows still
an echo of
a whippoorwill
darkness frees
you in flight
gracing wings
of my night
I listen to
your lonely cry
bouncing off
of earth to sky
I can feel
your every ache
a sound in silence
hard to take
oh whippoorwill
you call me clear
it is my heart
in which I hear
I wish that I
could let you go
but you are the sound
dark winds blow

Very nice poetic words here. I loved this one.

What a heavy
poem, Helen...
it bears a quiet
sadness, while
remaining truly
lovely in word.

Helen...this is definitely one of my favorites
from your pen.  Beautifully done.
